(Part time; 17 hours fortnightly Ref. V24/9371)

The Bushcare Program is responsible for the co-ordination of up to 65 volunteer Bushcare and Landcare groups, participating in Council’s Bushcare Program. Each officer will take primary responsibility for the support of a portion of the groups.

They will also contribute to the management of the Bushcare Program by providing ongoing assistance and support for volunteer Bushcare groups in accordance with Council’s Bushcare procedures, plans and policies.

  • TAFE Conservation & Land Management Certificate III in Natural Areas Restoration or equivalent.
  • AQF 3 Chemical Users Certificate.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Working With Children Check clearance
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in bushland regeneration including experience in team leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing training in bush regeneration techniques and strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in community development, including facilitation of community groups focused on the delivery of environmental outcomes.
  • Strong communication and positive influence skills and a demonstrated ability to work with a range of people and situations.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and independently within the Council framework for community engagement.
  • Sound computer skills including Microsoft office and mapping applications or equivalent.
  • Understanding of and commitment to Work Health and Safety, EEO Legislation and procedures

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $63,615 gross per annum (pro rata)
+ adverse working conditions of $1,035 gross per annum
+ 11.5% superannuation
+ performance payment 1% – 3.5% annual salary
+ annual award increase
