We are looking for a Team Leader to join our crew of bush regenerators based in Greater Western Sydney.

The role involves liaising with project managers and other team leaders on the effective management of our implementation sites across Sydney and the Illawarra, as well as leading and directing daily works and small teams of bush regenerators.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful you will have:

  • Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or relevant experience in lieu of this)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ bush regeneration experience including:
    • Strong native and exotic vegetation identification skills to undertake and supervise bush regeneration works.
    • Sound knowledge of various weed control techniques.
    • Experience working in, and knowledge of various ecological communities.
    • Basic understanding of ecological processes.
    • The ability to use and supervise others in the use of standard motorised equipment (e.g., chainsaw, auger, brush cutter).
    • The ability to use and supervise others in the use of standard chemicals and techniques (e.g., backpack & high-volume).
  • Experience with environment, safety and quality requirements on-site and the ability to meet those requirements using the tools available (e.g., SOPs, SWMS, toolbox talk, dailies, timesheets).
  • Solid experience working as part of a bush regeneration team.
  • Great leadership, communication and organisation skills, including experience with problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Chainsaw qualification and Chemcert / AQF3 (or equivalent).
  • Current NSW driver’s licence and ability to be based out of our GWS office in Ingleburn but capable of using a work ute, phone and iPad to operate independently including transporting and managing tools, PPE, fuel and herbicide, to meet the team on-site.

It would also be great if you have:

  • Experience supervising bush regeneration teams.
  • White card.
  • First aid.
  • Manual driver’s licence.
